ISN-ASDIN Webinar: POCUS Advances Worldwide

Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) continues to advance and gain traction in a worldwide audience. The use of POCUS in varied patient populations affects not just nephrologists but the ICU as well. One important aspect is the evaluation of septic patients, for both volume status and the effect of vascular congestion through Venous Excess Ultrasound (VExUS). We will review the current literature and preliminary data regarding the usage of VExUS in this critical population.

Shifting focus, POCUS continues to enlighten nephrologists regarding the dialysis population. POCUS is now being used in a more varied patient population, and we will review its use in other countries. Further, innovation continues throughout the world as POCUS is now in the hands of patients themselves, we will explore the use of POCUS in a novice’s hands

By exploring these novel uses for POCUS we will continue to direct new and exciting changes in the world of POCUS in Nephrology.
