WCN'26: Conservative Kidney Management

Session Description:

We define and contextualise a care philosophy (KSC) and a kidney failure treatment (CKM). We use case-based learning to explore how decision-support can help to ensure a person preparing for CKM receives goal-directed care.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to define KSC and CKM. They will distinguish between chosen and choice-restricted CKM. They will be aware of the evidence regarding quality and quantity of life outcomes with CKM vs. KRT and how to support people preparing for these treatments.
