ISN Oceania and South East Asia Regional Board Webinar: Global Perspectives and Regional Priorities – Tackling CKDu in Asia-Pacific

This session will open with a global overview of CKDu—its burden, evidence gaps, and strategic priorities—presented by leaders from the ISN i3C Network and the Clinical Research Program. Their insights, grounded in the latest systematic review, will set the stage for regional engagement. The session will also explore how Asia-Pacific can respond through collaborative efforts, including surveys, data mapping, and capacity-building. The aim is to build a bridge between global evidence and regional action.

Learning objectives: 

- To provide a global perspective on the current state of CKDu research and priority areas
- To explore regional opportunities for collaboration, data sharing, and capacity-building
- Introducing practical approaches for developing region-specific CKDu strategies in OSEA

Dr. Sirirat Anutrakulchai (Reungjui) is the Associate Professor of Medicine at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. She obtained the Boards of Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and PhD program in Epidemiology and Statistics from Khon Kaen University. She had research collaboration in the postdoc program at University of Florida (2005-2007).  Her main tasks are the lecturer, clinician and researcher in chronic kidney disease (CKD) issue. She is the current (2022-2014) Chair of the CKD Prevention Committee of the Nephrology Society of Thailand.
