ISN-ISRNM Webinar: A Practical Guide to Nutritional Screening and Assessment in Patients with Kidney Disease

Join Dr. Angela Wang in this joint ISN-ISRNM webinar as she moderates a session designed to equip multidisciplinary healthcare providers with practical strategies for effective nutritional screening and assessment of patients with kidney disease. The focus will be on the rationale behind screening, identifying individuals in need of screening, and knowing when to refer patients to a dietitian for further assessment. This session will also define under-nutrition and over-nutrition, emphasizing their significance in patients with kidney disease. Specific tools for assessing over-nutrition, like the modified Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM), will be thoroughly reviewed, with case examples presented.

Moreover, Dr. Zarina Ebrahim and Dr. Maria Chan, both experienced dietitians, will delve into the tools for nutrition screening and assessment, providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals caring for kidney patients. Understanding the implications of effective screening and assessment on patient management and nutritional requirements will be a key highlight of the discussion.

Later in the webinar, don’t miss Dr. Csaba Kovesdy’s presentation on new insights in the diagnosis of protein-energy wasting. By attending this informative session, you’ll gain essential knowledge to enhance the nutritional care and outcomes of patients with kidney disease.
