This curriculum will provide a comprehensive review of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of various pandemic infections in the tropics that can lead to AKI.
-Recognize the public health impact of pandemic infections in the tropics and their repercussion on kidney health
-Understand the pathogenesis of these infections and of their related AKI
-Recognize how to diagnose and evaluate infections and AKI in the tropics, including role of non-invasive biomarkers where applicable
-Describe management strategies for these diseases and discuss emerging therapies
-Delineate approaches for prevention from a public health perspective
